Biography

Early Life:

British actress, singer and dancer Alice Baker was born in the South West of England. She was introduced to the performing arts world when she started ballet lessons at her beloved local dance school at the tender age of two. It was there that she first ‘tread the boards’ and developed her love for performance.

Training:

Alice started her professional training at the age of 16 in Guildford. It was whilst training at the Performance Preparation Academy that Alice made her professional stage debut as the titular role in ‘Cinderella’ in the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Christmas pantomime alongside Bonnie Langford as the Fairy Godmother.

Alice reprised the role of 'Cinderella’ with Qdos Entertainment twice more; performing alongside Joe Tracini, Gareth Gates and Julian Clary.

In her final year at College Alice performed as ‘Little Red’ in ‘Into the Woods’, ‘Nautica’ in ‘Bring It On’ The Musical and ‘Carrie Pipperidge’ in ‘Carousel’, all at the Electric Theatre Guildford.

Under the guidance of course leader Gerry Tebbutt, Alice graduated in 2015 with an LTCL Diploma in Musical Theatre.

Career:
Since graduating, Alice has been delighted to be working in theatre up and down the UK.

Credits include ‘Our house’ at the Union Theatre, Ensemble/Dance Captain in ‘Devilish’ at the Landor theatre and ‘Baby’ in Secret Cinema Presents ‘Dirty Dancing’, London.

Alice played ‘Gloria’ in the 2017 UK Tour of the musical ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’.

Whilst on tour, Alice unexpectedly took on the role of ‘Millie Dillmount’; with a little under two hours preparation before curtain up! Having made her professional debut as a leading lady in a UK Tour she became ‘Onstage Standby Millie Dillmount’ and went on to perform the role again to wonderful reviews.

Later in 2017 Alice joined the original cast of the new UK Arena musical tour ‘Heaven on Earth’; as Enoch’s younger sister ‘Hope’.

Sadly however, during the tenth rehearsal week the cast were informed that the production company was being placed into liquidation and the remainder of the tour was cancelled.

The new musical's cast included Kerry Ellis, Russel Watson and Hugh Maynard and although the tour did not come to full fruition, Alice was thrilled to have worked with such established professionals during the creation process. Relishing the unique and exciting opportunity to be a part of the development process of her own character.

In 2018 Alice joined the UK tour of 'Summer Holiday the Musical' playing the role of 'Alma', one third of the girl singing group 'Do-Re-Mi!'.

In 2019 Alice appeared in 'Casino Royale', an immersive theatre production with Secret Cinema, London.

Alice has also enjoyed a variety of stage, short film and television roles. Notably, voicing the character ‘Number 3’ for the CBeebies award winning children’s TV and radio programme ‘Numberjacks’; she also later made an on-screen appearance for the show.

At the end of 2020 Alice was Assistant Choreographer to Caroline Pope, on the third Netflix sequel of 'The Princess Switch 3' starring Vanessa Hudgens, Will Kemp and Remy Hii. She also appears in the film as a featured dancer/SA.
