Thoroughly Modern Millie

Millie Dillmount

The lead role was played on press night at the Theatre Royal not, as expected, by Strictly Come Dancing star Joanne Clifton, but by Alice Baker, who gave a fine, spirited performance whether she was speaking her lines or singing them, exhibiting a beautifully clear voice. Indeed, if I hadn’t been told she wasn’t the original leading lady I’d have had no inkling.”

 Carrie Pipperidge

“the singing was never less than thrilling. Baker was a delightful Carrie Pipperidge, a joy to watch and with a soprano that was always perfectly pitched, and her scenes with her intended, the eccentric Mr Snow – Scott Livingstone, as ever right on the money – were acted and sung for all they were worth. These two surely have a big future.”

Cinderella - Crewe

“Cast opposite is Alice Baker as ‘Cinderella’, who has an amazing voice.”

Dance Captain/Ensemble

“Perhaps the best dancer of the group Alice Baker was a vixen on the dance floor, each move perfectly executed.”
